Meet Lale
We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Lale Lovell has joined Transformance Advisors as our new Vice President! With a background in chemical engineering and over 20 years of experience in engineering and management, she brings valuable expertise to our team. Lale is also a graduate of our Certified Lean Master training. For more information about her work history, publications, and patents, you can visit her LinkedIn profile.
This year, Lale decided to pursue her true passion, coaching. Over the past two decades, she found coaching to be her calling, focusing on guiding individuals, teams, and organizations in lean thinking. Lean coaching is our specialty, and as our new Vice President, Lale will play a crucial role in coaching individuals and businesses through our certification courses.
Project Champion
Lale has championed many projects throughout her career. One of her most successful lean projects was a workflow overhaul using Value Stream Mapping, a technique she learned from our Certified Lean Master course. By organizing and leading several workshops for each part of her division, she successfully overhauled its workflow.
The division employed over 100 people in three different areas of the world. It comes as no surprise that with 3 different time zones and so many people involved, Lale was met with resistance to such a large change. However, she was not the only project champion for her division. The Senior Director participated in the workshops and showed support every step of the way. With support from the Senior Director and dedication from the team, the new system has been in place for over four years, with continuous improvements ongoing.
Leader in Lean
When it comes to lean thinking, Lale embraces the mindset of root cause problem-solving and implementing countermeasures. Many teams get caught reacting when problems arise. Lale focuses on a proactive approach with her teams. She asks why a problem arises instead of just reacting. Moving from existing in a reactionary state to thinking proactively is essential, especially in our current VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) environment.
Outside of Work
In her free time, Lale is actively involved in community service. She serves on the board of the Colorado Chapter of Women in Manufacturing. Through this organization, she supports women’s empowerment in the manufacturing industry. Additionally, she acts as an External Advisory Board Member for CU Boulder’s Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering. In this position, she attends department events and mentors students and recent graduates.
Lale’s love for travel and exploring new areas has only been enhanced by her recent career change. She is currently planning a trip and has agreed to contribute a Trail of the Month article upon her return. Additionally, Lale has a passion for cooking and baking. As any mountain baker knows, high-altitude baking has its challenges. However, she persistently refines her skills, much like a Certified Lean Master does in their work.
In summary, Lale Lovell, Ph.D., joins Transformance Advisors as our new Vice President. She brings over 20 years of experience in engineering and management roles with her. Her expertise in lean thinking and coaching has already proven invaluable. Her passion for continuous improvement extends beyond the workplace. We can’t wait to see the positive impact her leadership will bring to our team and clients. Welcome to the team, Lale!
